Authorities have tried to bring forth tax regulations on bitcoins.  Depending where you stay, there may be regulations in place already. One usually pays tax when we convert our Bitcoin to fiat. The US taxpayer is required to keep a record of all buying, selling or using of bitcoins. However its difficult to determine payable tax since the value of Bitcoin is very volatile and transactions are difficult to trace by government.
