You don't get to be specifics here dude. All gamblers really know the consequences of being addicted to gambling. But why they are still getting into it despite the negative effects of it? Simply because they want to enjoy and earn lots of money in the quickest time possible. And no amount of explanation will swayed their mentality.
These "ENJOY" and "EARN LOTS OF MONEY" makes them addicted into gambling. Yes they know the consequences but they don't think it deeper. It will be hard for them also to quit in gambling because its part of their life already. Maybe they will stop only if they don't have money or they can't borrow money to their relatives anymore.
I hope that word "enjoys" and "earns a lot" happened to me way back when I'm still playing gambling, it is very rare to happen to a certain individual, all I've experienced was to lose against the house, and if I'm remembering it, all that cause to me is pain. I still wanted to win back the loses that I've had in gambling but I know what is going to happen, so I stopped dreaming about that. I divert my attention on something I know that is safer than gambling, and that is bounty hunting.
The reason you lost has nothing to do with gambling being bad for you, you lost due to your thoughts. We get what we create, you had negative thoughts and had resigned to the fact you would loose and so you lost. I feel that if we change our thoughts our inner patterns we can be profitable in gambling (I have personally experienced and experimented on people). People change the loosing thoughts, change yourself gambling is not bad it's the thought that makes you loose.
