Best suggestion, don't use coinbase to trade. Use any other exchange or use shape shift...depending on the currencies you want to trade.
Reasons to avoid Coinbase as your trading platform:
- Additional fees charged beyond the miner's fee
- Transaction tracking and reporting to independent agencies
- Limited number of currencies available to trade
