The news in term of development are actually decent, with LN getting closer to a release, so I think this is just temporary. 
In my opinion the reason why bitcoin is slam goun down its because the value is so indemand, and more people is using bitcoin and the volume cant sustain all the needs of bitcoin holder. Thats why bitcoin is slowly down, but we hope bitcoin is recover.
