Altcoins price still depends on BTC I think that it will be no longer so influencing. Because BTC is losing its positions
Losing it's position to whom?
BTC will always be the first crypto coin and, while it has some flaws, it'll stay at the top until this block chain tech becomes obsolete.
Bitcoin is kind of losing positions within the hype ranking, not the actual ranking in itself. I think that's what he is trying to state.
We clearly can feel that the dominance of BTC is decreasing overtime, but the market also gaining its capital to even more various alt coins which make even 30% dominance is a huge thing!. I think that BTC will keep on being #1 position in a cryptocurrency ranking with highest market capitalisation.
Just for another decades bitcoin have the chance to be replaced by something else but for now, I don't think so.
