devs did not want to stop rewards for old node protocol on hard update but around 40 masternodes failed to update thus far. Unfortunately, while they are in the network it makes a lot of problems for people who updates as was needed. Thus i guess there will be a new update soon to reject old nodes to finalize the network, waiting for it
