I don't follow your logic, but if you think adoption is a bad idea, then your best plan of action is to create your own coin and don't tell anyone else. That way, while everyone else suffers from the curse of adoption, you will still enjoy the benefits of a coin that can be used only by you.
You have really given him a summary of how lame he sounds already! I actually got confused at some point, especially when it mentioned the satoshi vision, and I was not sure if we read the same thing.
By the way, unless bitcoin's protocol is changed by community agreement which I doubt can ever happen, and that makes it impossible for centralization to happen and unless he is confusing regulation policies based on usage then he really need to go back to the books.
