Yes, that might be power cost for 51% attack, but it's same like claiming it needs only $50 (for a handgun), to get a lot more by robbing a bank.
Double spend is fraudulent activity. Anyone can do it, but they should be prepared for the consequences.

this is very serious ~ if someone can spend less tha $100 to 51% the coin then what are the developers doing to stop this?
Many other coins' teams are taking direct action now to mitigate this, and we already know what the response time is for anything getting done with emc2...zzz
