I saw a bounty program, and at the end they had signatures, how do they work?

Most bounty signature campaigns start at Member rank which requires 60 Activity and 10 Merit. Activity will come time by time, no worries, but Merit is no chance to get. You only get it for very high quality posts and for normal users it is still impossible to get Merit. I'm new here, I wanted to ask how do we use signatures?
