Limited supply
Verge, its supply is capped, and the limit is 16.5 billion. Not only that, but the large majority of the coins have already been mined. Because of this, the price of XVG has a large potential to jump up, since the demand will increase in time.
It's nothing special. Even coins with almost 100% cloned source-code can do that.
The price is still cheap and the coin is stable
It would be much smarter to invest in it right now, before the market recovers, and Verge reaches the value it had in December 2017. According to the CoinMarketCap, its current price is $0.039104 per coin, which allows for the purchase of a large number of coins at a very low price.
Cheap is relative and stable isn't guarantee whether the coin is good investment or have good technology.
Privacy and security
The one thing that gives Verge an advantage over many, many other cryptos is its approach to security and privacy of its users. Many coins offer anonymous transactions, which was great at first. The problems appeared when anonymity was misused for criminal activities, which has forced a lot of exchanges, and even entire countries, to stop dealing in such coins. Those who wish to send payments anonymously can use highly secure protocols like I2P, Tor, as well as its newest edition, the Wraith protocol.
Is this a joke? Verge barely have any privacy because :
1. Their blockchain is public, anyone can see the sender, receiver and amount publicly. Which means Verge don't have fungibility.
2. Their Wraith protocol have many security hole and can leak IP.
3. Every cryptocurrency can use I2P, Tor or other secure connection method to send/broadcast the transaction.
4. Even cryptocurrency such as BTC offer better privacy and security with proper configuration.
If you're looking for privacy/security, the choice would be Zcash which use Zk-SNARKs (soon will be replaced with Zk-STARKs) or Monero which use Ring CT with Stealth address. Don't wager your money on coins which don't have good developer or features that don't work.
I'm not sure people in here understand technical-side of cryptocurrency/privacy, do their research or simply paid by Verge dev.
