I think one of the most important things to make a project successful is transparency. If you are not willing to show where funds are used then it already raises question marks in my opinion. If people can see where the funds are used and that its being used in the right places there will be a higher level of trust. Yes, owners of new projects want to make a bit of money as well and there is nothing wrong with that, but declare it at least or say ok this % of funds raised will be allocated to the owner, this % will be allocated to this and that etc. If you as a project owner is not planning on scamming anyone then there is no reason to hide anything.
