If it’s a mobile wallet then just update like any other app. On desktop, just download and install latest version. It should automatically replace the previous version.
The only backup you need is the mnemonic seed. You should have your mnemonic saved somewhere for safekeeping already, but if you don’t then go to settings>show mnemonic password. Write it down or save it somewhere.
