this is what you most likely have

https://us.msi.com/Graphics-card/GeForce-GTX-1080-Ti-SEA-HAWK-X

both of the above are like this one.

now at one time or the other I have owned all of the above

they are all dead solid cards true troopers

Phil, I had one of the 3 MSI 1070 Sea Hawk X cards I got from you die on me almost 2 months ago.  Some sort of short that prevent the rig from powering back in.  Once I removed the failed card, all was well with the rig again.  Opened RMA with MSI and it took 6 weeks before I got the replacement.  It worked for about 2 hours, then started overheating.  It didn't even come with the fan for the radiator.  Raised a stink with MSI and they said they didn't have another 1070 Sea Hawk they could send me, and that I would have to wait until one came in.  Was able to convince them to send me a 1080 Sea Hawk instead.  Got it 3 days later and it too overheated as soon as I started mining with it.  Turns out this 2nd one had a concave mounting plate that kept the cool plate (copper part) from making contact with the GPU.  Once I fixed it, it was good to go.  The 1070 did have a failed pump, but just picked up a Corsair H55 and swapped the parts I needed to get it going again.  MSI is going to charge me $350 if I don't return the 1070, but I figured I'll just keep it since that's still a good deal for a 1070 Sea Hawk.  And of course I'm keeping the 1080 as well.

I also had a EVGA 1070 air card fail.  Their process is so much better than MSI.  Sent them the failed card and had a replacement back within a week.  And it was a brand new card one model newer than what had failed.  Compare that to a 6 week turnaround with MSI, and you get a beaten up used card back that might not work.  Needles to say, I'm going to focus on EVGA cards going forward...
