People take extreme risks. The volatility isn't a problem at all. If you take into consideration that there are people investing in crypto with borrowed money, they absolutely don't know how to properly calculate risks. They just see how the overall market has gone up with 100-200% and think they can expect similar gains after their investment at peak levels. If people were really afraid of crypto, they wouldn't do this, and common sense would prevent them from pumping borrowed money into an extremely speculative asset class. I can't even feel sorry for people who mess up because it's their own mistake -- they have no one but themselves to blame for. These people need to be protected against themselves....
