I remember Trevon James. One of the popular bitconnect shills on Youtube. His videos were convincing enough to get most of his subscribers (and Steemit folllowers) to buy into the bitconnect scam.
Welp. It's quite easy to convince greedy and desperate people especially when you're willing to do sacrifices (e.g. yer identity etc..)
Anyhow, There's a lawsuit filed against that guy right? along with other shillers
However, I don't seem to know how the case ended but I'm guessing he would have been hit with only a heavy fine.
