Actually I do not care about bad news about bitcoin, because have many times many people say btc is bubble, but btc price slow rise! Although bitcoin may affect alt coin, we have a lot of choices. The blockchain is an example and much more. So do not worry too much about it
For us long in the bitcoin it doesnt affect us, but for the new in bitcoin they are easily deceived by the bad news spreading. The bad news leads to false information and some investors believe that without even searching for it, that caused for the panic selling of their bitcoin, and it can affect the law of supply and demand of bitcoin. I suggest we buy more bitcoin and hold it until the incresase. Let them sell their bitcoin now, but when the increase happen i believe they will come back, and maybe they will know what bitcoin capable of, and they will learn from us that the dropping of its price is normal because bitcoin is volatile.
