in the awesome 80s and 90s sci-fi movies people traded info in the future...and that future seems to be now with Datacoin and Namecoin.
but what exactly sets datacoin apart from namecoin? (apart from it being based on primecoin)
namecoin already allows for decentralized encrypted storage , alongside the DNS, torrenttracking and multiple other uses (more info on namecoin.org )
not dissing datacoin in anyway....just trying to understand what it brings to the table that is really gamechanging .
also who is @datacoininfo ? he promises free dtc for retweets but I personally haven't received any after a retweet (@xtsimon) and doubt others have too. doesn't look good nor helps community start on the right foot if the recognized official twitter takes people for a ride and doesn't honor even such little bounties.
First question: answer from dev (many many pages ago)
The fist coin with data in tx was Namecoin. The main difference is that Namecoin is a key-value storage and it applies some rules to the data (data can be correct or not). Datacoin daemon handles blobs and it doesn't care about data format.
Second questions: it is forum member jpmi1 who is in our unofficial team. I'll ask him today about this - I'm sure that he just didn't see it. When did you retweet it?
