Regarding GPU mining, like I said in another thread:
I know gpu mining is preferable but my computer is from 2008 and unfortunately my GPU doesnt support OpenCL (ati3870), so no choice for me since nobody uses nor updates the R600 miner anymore.
I'm in a really bad financial situation, can't even spare $50 for a used GPU I can mine with..So I'm stuck with CPU mining for now, I know it's not worth the electricity spent but I actually get that for free.
Right now I have 3 computers CPU mining but they're really old, so all in all I'm putting out like 18kh/s. It's pathetic I know, I could pull twice as much as that just with my ati3870 if I had a miner for that architecture, I'd very much kill for a usable build of that R600 miner :/
But ah well, work with what you have is what they say..so I'll aim whatever computing power I have at the chance of making a few dollars with this.
