With all of this arguing about whether dogecoin is garbage, trash, scam, going to the moon, going to be worth x, sell now, buy now...

Two thoughts have came to me.

1. In the 2+years I've been mining almost every time a co-worker, friend, or family member asks me what cards they should get and how to start mining, my cringing reply has been something along the lines of "Well it'll cost you xxx.xx to start, if you don't mind that it's an investment and you could simply have a computer with a lot of graphics cards I can help you set it up, but... at current market prices it's going to take you xx months to make your money back."

Except for 2 instances they decided no.

The crappy thing about each of those times is the decision was based on the value they could earn on the current price and the next anticipated difficulty of whatever coin they were asking about. In every instance if they had just done it as an investment, they'd have made way more than the equipment cost them to set up.

The moral is; despite our reservations regarding future outlook of any coin, the future is bright. Bright indeed.

2. The bashing of coins. 90% A large portion of the people on here bashed the shit out of litecoin when it came out, then solidcoin (well this one didn't really succeed but a good example of bash), ppc, xpm, quark, and almost every other coin gets bashed, slighted and slandered for about 3-6 months then suddenly it's an accepted alt coin.

I feel that the difference with doge is usually a large portion here doesn't even hear about or acknowledge "some uppity altcoin" until it's been around a lot longer.

Doge hit the ground with rocket boots on.

Edit: 82.327% of statistics are made up.
