I accepted the tax payment to the government because I knew it was a responsibility and my duty to contribute to the development of the country as well as the society in which I live
Without taxes, the government will not be able to function properly because it will have no funds to pay the salaries of the public servants and to implement the projects. We need to contribute as a resident or citizen of a country to help in making it possible for the government to perform its obligation by paying tax. There are times when we just don't want to pay because some people are corrupt and take tax payments for their own benefit.
I agree with you, people have no choice but to pay taxes to those people who regulate a certain country, It is their salary in doing public service but not some of them are doing that, its really unfair sometimes that people are willing to pay huge taxes but the equivalent work of the government will not satisfy the paid taxes, corrupt government officials do that.
