It seems that the FPGA and ASIC makers have already cracked CN7.
As I have said, it is a battle you can not win FPGA is getting better it is a matter of software DEVS should never have change the algo. FPGA coders are keeping there code to themselves now when its open?
?Well the coin has been "ASIC resistant" ever since it was created, I'm not sure how you can really blame devs for sticking to the original promise of the coin. With or without a PoW update there would have been people who disagree--so you can't win with everyone. It is very common practice for Cryptonotes to update their PoW to stay away from ASICs and we can keep doing this if we need to (pr if the community wants to keep doing so). Keep in mind that this update does not just change the PoW...it also modifies the difficulty adjustment algorithm to Zawy's LWMA-2 so that those with extremely high hashrates can no longer perform hash attacks or timestamp attacks. That's a pretty big deal and upgrade to the network. It wasn't just about the PoW but the manipulation of the coin.
