The short answer is that Sirius provides the required features to make this project work.

It has the bitcoin UTXO model for the SIRX coin that can easily be integrated with current BTC payment systems, the ability to run Solidity Smart Contracts in an EVM and the fact that they don't do PoW makes it orders of magnitude faster and cheaper compared to Ethereum.
