I do not have good knowledge about mining however looking at the mega thread which originally created on last December having 108 pages of comments, how did you end up finding that specific topic for merit? Especially, when the user have not received a single merit yet even after having 140 activity. Going to his post history - I do not see a bright one. A side note: I guess there is a hidden criteria before to pick up a merit source. It's the ability to spot good posts. It comes from experience and they gathered it from this forum. Not everyone can be a good merit spender especially those who do not have much knowledge about the forum.
