Amazon most likely isnt going to get involved in a scam. Bitcoins are tied to black market, dark web and other illegal activities including money laundering schemes. But the fact that more and more companies decide to accept bitcoins is undoubtedly good news.
honestly I do not even know why they should not, bitcoin has its own proven to be stable and it will benefit Amazon too, this will of course be great news and cryptocurrency lovers like me will I be happy once the news comes out.
I do not think short-term Amazon will accept bitcoin, as soon as recognized and widely accepted there is a very good chance Amazon will eventually receive a payment with bitcoin
