I was just browsing through this thread when a young close relative strolled in. He sat by my side for a minute and overlooked what I was reading, quickly pointing out the following on the spot:
- The first anime character is from Guilty Crown.
- The second one is Sakura Chiyo.
- They are talking about genders (on the thread) as if there were only two: there are at least thirty (and around 300 sexualities).
Having said that, he left the room and went back to his reading ...
Times change, and younger generations may or may not get into crypto, but at least I can get my hopes up around here for some of them having a broader view of life in non-Boolean ways.
When I read it I began to think about all the things we are just taking for granted about our own perception regarding newbies and their concerns. I feel that, somehow, when you spend enough time in here you absolutely can see the things in a really different way, and it becomes more and more difficult to walk in other's shoes. That's why I'm interested now in trying to understand what a newcomer has in his/her mind, for, by knowing them, maybe we can help some and also the forum.
