I think the price of Bitcoin and the likes will plateau out like gold. What's holding the price is probably because the miners need a reasonable margin to make a profit from all the investment they put in (hardware, electricity costs etc.).  Once it's becoming too hard to earn from mining and its perceive value moderates out, the price will stabilize, though i doubt it will be in the high zone.
