I do not think crypto is more dangerous than banks. For example, many people lost their savings in banks in Ukraine when the conflict began there. Almost 60 banks in Ukraine bankrupted when the war began in 2014, causing loss of bank savings among its citizens. So now I trust crypto more than bank system.
