I think the ideal time for diversification was when the price of bitcoin approached $20,000 because that high price made it possible to acquire more altcoins with fewer bitcoins. But the issue of diversification is still valid even at these low prices because it is clear that the altcoins are gaining more space every day at bitcoin in the marketcap, and their growth potential is much greater than the potential that bitcoin has at this moment after a year as tremendously bullish as 2017.
