Actually i think there is absolutly no competition for ethereum. They are so many projects who announced a much better cryptocurrency with smart contract plattform. But until now, theres nothing happen. They are just say. How you can see, the most of them cant even launch their blockchain without big troubles. So i would not care about competition fot ethereum in the next five years. They are all far behind them.
