becuase the coins have different payouts, block rewards, and final total number of coins? do you not understand math with more than 1 variable?

Maybe because litecoin last diff change was 8 days ago....
just look at the ltc hash drop. I like both coins but it's pretty obvious why the hashrate is only 1/4 but the difficulty is 1/7. The next ltc diff correction will adjust it.
