Could it be possible to adjust the timeout of the idle miner notification? Currently I get more than a handful of spam a day. And I mean spam as the worker is always working fine when I go to check on it, not even return or get work failures have ocurred. The vardif apparently works quite aggressively for my 3x5870 rig. Some times it spews out shares like mad and then again it hits the timeout between shares.
