No why would anyone put video on a blockchain? A blockchain is just a very, very slow database, this would be horrible.
Our blockchain is used for the cryptocurrency TUBE. The video data is on IPFS, it's decentralized storage sort of like bittorrent but more advanced. Everyone on bit.tube is a storage node instantly, it works automatically in the browser. That's the magic trick, you don't have to download anything.
As for your question, videos can be unpublished when they violate copyright, we have to abide by the law, we don't want to end up like the pirate bay. But this is a centralization and censorship issue so later we want to put the community in charge of copyright review & reports/disputes so that part is more decentralized. But we have to build that in the next months.
These are basic questions though so please check the FAQ on reddit

So, if you're against decentralization and censorship, why does your moderator keep removing thumbnails?
You mean _for_ decentralization and against censorship, right?
Copyright infringement is against the law, I'm sure you know this so if you're trying to be smart, try harder. If you mean those pornographic thumbnails and profile pics, just think for a second. Those get us thrown off the android and apple appstore, same goes for copyrighted stuff. It's already happened once and lawyers are bloody expensive. Right now we move everything pornographic to xxx.bit.tube anyway so it doesn't show on normal bit.tube or the app. We don't actually remove videos unless we have to.
Yep, sorry, I meant centralization.
Nope, neither one of them (pornographic thumbnails and profile pics).
But anyway, I see there's no point of arguing here.
Started out pretty nice, I truly believed in this project from the very start, I even did a translation of this thread.
But, as it turns, you're not much different from viuly.
And there's no need to treat me like a person uploading copyrighted content just because I asked a simple question.
Cheers!
