It's a good thing that more and more altcoin is trying to go beyond bitcoin, because technically they've already exceeded bitcoin.
But the BTC is still the encryption money market leader, it will not be replaced by any tokens, this is the same truth, if have tokens, replaced the BTC, so the encryption will collapse in the currency markets.
A lot of coins have gone beyond bitcoin technically but bitcoin still has 34.8% of the total market cap currently. It seems bitcoin is not going to die because of technical lack.
Bitcoin will definitely not die, neither by technical faults nor by any other means, until and unless the rates are volatile and high it will keep on attracting more investors and hence the circle will keep on going and I dont really see bitcoin dying anytime soon rather I predict bitcoin can touch greater heights if the mining is more efficient and less costly also if the transaction cost is lessened then it will attract even more investors and traders.
