Impact on other currencies are already visible because most of them have increased value when BTC has jumped.
Lot's of cryptocurrencies is connected to BTC and follow movements of BTC. It can be technical nature or just psychology of human who responds to movement of the market.
So, when BTC moves all other currencies will see same direction and sometimes this is not good because some currencies have it's own field where they operate successfully.

In the future there will be better surrounding for all cryptocurrencies and I think people will be more involved in crypto world and market will stabilize itself.
