Agree. Don't understand why Houston Rockers are eyeing for Carmelo Anthony. Although chemistry can be learned along the way, I found it difficult to blend if Melo will not adjust. Last season, he was doing a purely catch and shoot unlike back then that his offense is associated with breaching the defense closed to the hoop.
If that transfer to Houston Rockets will happened and if Melo will agree (he should), he can be put on the second squad, yes coming from the bench to boost offense on it. I just don't know if that will be the scenario since Melo is always on a starting lineup since then.
Yeah Carmelo still have those hot hands on the perimeter but he is getting slower and that could be the reason for the lack of penetration on the inside. Ball could be stolen easily if he cant find that speed anymore.
The good thing here is D'Antoni already knew how Carmelo plays and where to position him. If it is the 2nd team and Melo agrees then it will be good. But for a superstar, his ego might get in the way.
Nah, I dont think Carmelo will accept if he's assigned in the 2nd squad, he has an ego that always says he always belong to the starting line up. Carmelo is a good superstar, he just need to blend in the perfect pieces for him as you guys said, because he just cant lead a team to win a ring. He's Denver Nugget team was his best team so far, they just cant get passed the Lakers, after he changed tean everything was awful for him.
I agree. We still remember during a post game interview and someone has ask him that question along the line. He was laughing at the guy but we all know that his best days are behind him. He still thinks that he can deliver but we all know how he faired last year. Iso guy, short jump shots, dribble penetrate. So I don't think that the will accept role coming from the bench.
We are all in agreement with that.
What else do you think scouts are thinking about him. It might be worse than what we are saying here.
We know these guys are being observed daily. One example is Jeremy Lim. Once he had been scouted for all his moves, defending him became easy for whoever will face him.
That is scouting in NBA in the highest level.
Now Carmelo became so narrow with his options of offense. Perimeter shots mostly and cannot be seen in the paint. He cant be a forward cause we cannot see rebounds or some defense from him in the paint. So where should a team put him?
Houston already got 3 guards who are really good. Add Green makes them 4 there.
The position that he wants as a wing man of either CP3 or Harden is already taken.
I think Melo should start accepting that he is not getting any younger anymore, plus the injury problem.
Whatever team he will land, he should show his best this time so he will not be criticized on his style of play with the OKC.
