It can hit $40,000 but I hope it doesn't go that high because if we hit a new ATH you already know what's going to happen next after that. For me the highest price I can expect out of Bitcoin is $10,000 because I don't think that those people who bought at a loss (above $10k) would still invest.
Maybe one of the reason for bitcoin to hit 40,000$ because those people who are not really techie can easily have confidence of themselves on how to use bitcoin because it is already easy to trade it into other cryptos and convert it into dollars.
That's what happened last year and it's the reason why Bitcoin hit $20,000.
