I wouldn't say that investing in Bitcoin and altcoins would "outdo" investing in the stock market, but cryptocurrency has proven to be a lot more volatile and explosive if you're talking about seeing quick changes or returns. There are advantages and disadvantages to investing in both markets. They are different beasts and aren't perfectly comparable.

People have easily lost 2x more on the crypto markets than what they've made their entire lives in the stock market. Volatility is really a double edged sword. Furthermore, I think there's a lot more resources to research before you invest in stocks. Cryptos aren't necessarily the same thing. The stock market's definitely the safer bet, but the crypto market's the more explosive one.
