Well for me Russia will go to cryptocurrency especially when Putin is their president because he knew that cryptocurrency is decentralized and no one controls it and that was he really like.
Nothing is easy as you said. You do not understand the political system. A political system cannot merely adopt a currency unit (or you can call it is a new payment system) easily by the consent of the president. It needs to be passed on to all members of parliament and to those who are economically and politically competent.
