Your imagination serves you well and your instinct is spot on. Ken will most certainly be holding back until after we are trading. 
Why?
Would you somehow benefit trading BEFORE shipments?
If there is hardware shipping, wouldn't that legitimize the entire business and bring in many more customers and revenue to the shareholders?
Wouldn't forcing you to watch your money grow before he let you sell out be more beneficial to him and you?
Understand that the logical solution is not always the actual outcome.
