one basic knowledge about blockchains is that u dont have coins in ur wallet
u have keys to be able interact with the blockchain to send coin which ur keys manage

the info who owns how much coins is stored in the decentral blockchain on each node of the network

so based on this knowledge we can say

bill gates and his windows update cant steal ur coins

the only thing that can happen is that ur local blockchain database get corrupted by a PC reboot
or losing connection to mainnet starting to act not in consense with the network

in both cases use newest wallet software and sync ur blockchain from zero again fix it

we understand that blockchain technology is still not ready for mainstream
and u can be proud of u to be part of this while its still the complicated early adopters world
this carry riscs and opportunities

the riscs are that there is some time and dedication needed to dig deeper and understand the base of technology
to avoid riscs like losing coins because u lost access of important files or didnt make proper backups of wallet.dat

in 2 years we all will smile about this kind of stuff
everything will be much more comfortable and easy to use
and thats the point when mainstream jump in and the true advantage for beeing a early adoper will become visible
