On Thursday, July 26, 2018, Chelsea signed a contract with Robert Green, the former Hiderfield goalkeeper, for a one-season season to compensate for the possible departure of Belgian  Courtois. "I can not wait to start the new season, I'm very happy, it's an honor to be here," Chelsea said in a statement.
The 38-year-old has had several experiments with West Ham, Queens Park and Norwich City.
Greene played 12 caps for the English national team and played for the three lions at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
