Former JP Morgan Executive Says Banks Know Cryptocurrency Can Change The World; Costa Rica Workers Can Be Legally Paid In Cryptocurrency
According to Ethereum World News, Facebook has decided to allow a few specific cryptocurrency-related advertisements run on the platform. This is a few months after Facebook announced that they would ban all cryptocurrency-related ads. One of the cryptocurrency-related companies allowed to advertise on Facebook is Coinbase.
The CEO of Coinbase, Brian Armstrong, announced the decision in a tweet a few hours ago. He stated:
Facebook banned ads for crypto earlier this year. Proud to say weve now been whitelisted and are back introducing more people to an open financial system.
Will this bring a positive impact on bitcoin and bitcoin prices going forward?
i'd say this is some really good news not for bitcoin alone, but for the entire economy of cryptocurrency.
As we all know that social media giants, such as facebook, could greatly influence the masses in a global scale. A ban instantly translates to FUD for many. It is a very worrisome association with cryptocurrency.
When the design of cryptocurrency was to be decentralized, it is with great fear when a powerful entity bans it (though facebook's intention was to cut down scammers that went hay wire crazy last year as bitcoin reached ATH).
So hearing of the news that coinbase got whitelisted is really a relief.
