But definitely not a case of "one can only assume nefarious reasons"; there are plenty of innocent reasons for the premine to remain unlocked and some of them have been posted to this thread.
Duh, my bad. move funds provide private key, bam done. I assume nefarious because it is a simple and quick thing to prove and he has not proven it.
And as far as locking the pre-mine, well thats just another lie no matter "the reasons".

By lying about the ASIC change they not only caused the value to drop because of inflation but alienated a large segment of their base that would have bought those asics and didn't or even worse SOLD those asics at a loss only to find out they were planning all along not to change the algo and kept it from the community.

I was pretty butthurt about the reversal on ASIC-resistance, too, but that was >1 month ago and I've since gotten over it. Furthermore, CaptDero did explain why he decided to stick with CNv0, and while I still don't entirely agree with his reasons, I do think his reasons are, well, reasonable.
It's pretty hard "To get over" something so impactful as changing the POW as it effects the entire economy. I can see how you can get over it easier as now you are more embedded in the project but making an announcement and then just ignoring that announcement and the fact people make economic choices based on that information is criminal behavior. And yes it is criminal. If any security manager in the world made an announcement that affected price and then did not follow through without even an attempt of forewarning their investors they would be in front of a judge. He is lucky he is anonymous and I recommend he stay so.
But It is your choice whether to get over it or not and it is everyone elses choice, no amount of yelling at each other is going to change that fact. I do not disagree with the argument to stay cryptonote, that is not the point. the point is how it was handled. If it was announce right away so people could plan accordingly as soon as it was decided then sure it's easy to get over but if it was used to prop up the price while the pre-mine was being dumped then thats another thing altogether. And right now we do not know if that is what happened.
