I thinking on this matter is don't stop, but slow it down. I don't think we should stop imports from China at all. I do believe that we should cut down a bit and start making our own products. We were a country built on manufacturing. What happened? Did we get lazy and in good times we decided buying cheap would be faster? This is a major reason the economy is where it is today, we stopped making and chose buying.

I'm not a US citizen, but if would be better if US would just import what the country needed. I'm under the impression that US has been relying totally on imports from Technology to even Tys you can found in the US. The truth is, the only advantage China has its it manpower and cheap labor cost, in other words, sweat shops. If the US government will just look at what items should be imported and let the local manpower produce that will benefit and stir the economy then that would be cool. Or perhaps raised tax for imported items coming from China? The US economy is totally fucked up, so I guess its really important for the nation to decide whether to accept useless item but cheap or let the US labor and manufacturing to the thing but with the cost much higher.
