I think, the good thing about these airdrops will be that the decentralization could happen faster... and that is because a lot of people, when they receive airdrops, the don't really care about the project, so they'll dump their thousands of coins for 10 satoshis because...who cares? they got that for free... Getting coins free doesnt involved people as much as paying for them...

Now, imagine one of this people gets 10 million coins, the coin hits an exchange, he dumps them for 1 satoshi... now here is the interesting part... if some new guy sees this coin, checks the wallet, the team, etc... he decides he could buy this because it's cheap, but he won't risk that much... he decides to buy $10 worth of x-cash... imagine spreading that 10 initial millions to people who buy in ranges between $10 and $100...it's far fetched indeed, some may buy more, some less, but the main idea is there won't be too many whales left in 2 to 3 years.

And if you expect you will be getting rich from this in a matter of months, bad news for you  Undecided

Hi, I think you summarized it perfectly. The idea is really to avoid mass token concentration like there are with other tokens where top 100 holders hold 50% of the supply. So we came up with this idea of long-term airdrops, because maybe the people will dump in the early months, but eventually if the coin starts becoming successful, we will have people holding.

That doesn't come without drawbacks, one of them is the size impact this will have on the blockchain, which is why we are working heavily on the bulletproof implementation to reduce transactions' sizes by 80%. And also looking forward to a later version of X-CASH (2.0) which will solve all these issues.

In the end, it's a trade, whether or not you received the coin for free, but I get your point that this is slightly different from a psychological perspective; some people will dump it, and they might be right, some people will hold it, and they might be right as well. Our job is to give all our energy to release a good product for the mass-market and make that second possibility real.
