I'm surprised I haven't come across this before. The project did manage to get a decent media coverage:

That, on its own, is some marketing success (for such a small town).
I've never heard about the payment processor TravelByBit, if legit - they're doing a great work.

I hadn't heard of this either. I think it's a great idea. It's also a great sign. I think it can be sort of a local tourist attraction. Some people may even come and buy Bitcoin just to give it a try in this city. Sort of like people go to Vegas and buy casino chips. I think every little bit can help to get people more comfortable with crypto. I love the name TravelByBit too. Good on the Australians! Hopefully we see more of this in other countries too.
