I'm curious if I register there (just to get the payment) without ever playing, will I be paid the bonus (provided I give my ID in the thread)? Or, was this exactly the intention of the new giveaway to attract new users to PrimeDice?

I'm not certain, but I think you should be able to do this as you meet all the criteria and it doesn't say anything about needing a pre-existing account, just an account.
