For now, maybe all famous altcoins will have the same pattern as Bitcoin. Indeed, when viewed from a marketcap, Litecoin will be more potential.
But I think Litecoin won't grow when Bitcoin isn't in a good trend. So maybe Bitcoin will still be the best place for the long term.
