I think holding or selling other altcoins or selling them for bitcoin might be the same, but it would be different if the altcoin was sold for fiat money,
Because altcoin prices are based on the price of bitcoin, so if the price of bitcoin drops then the price of the altcoin will drop and if the price of bitcoin rises, the price of the altcoin will rise
