It is clear already, that BAADD cause many problems, but how can we overwhelm them?

One of the solutions proposed by EXA Platform is to start a mechanism of pricing and compensation.

What does it mean? Who should pay and for what?

To explain it, at first, we need to learn the characteristics of a product called information which is a product distributed in the media platform. Information is everything that can be digitized, such as news, books, movies, music, images, social network services, and so on. All this information can be categorized by paying money or for free, and if we limit ourselves to information materials which are content produced by news and social media, they are generally free.

OK, but what does a price for information include?

There is a production cost, but the distribution cost is close to 0. Also, there is no additional expense for duplicating the content, so the marginal cost is close to 0 under digital environment.

I see. But whats wrong with free information?

Being free does not motivate the writers and guarantee the quality. Thus, consumers can waste their time in the flood of low quality content or can be drawn into content that seem information and be misused, as it was stated before.

And how will pricing and compensations deal with that?

It allows consumers to give the information, which we took for free up until now, a value and to compensate the authors for their content. Through this, we would be able to make a new, healthy media environment.
